I bought M&D's Maximus Monitors and loved them. I, then, moved up the line to the Aragorns with Bass Extender stands and made them SING in my home. Up the line again to the Apollos, but it was a mistake. I can not get these beasts to "work" in my small listening room.....too much speaker for far too small a room. These have a purity I have never before heard from top to mid-bass, but, again, the woofer overwhelms my small room. A MUCH bigger room is needed.
Bad news first...shipping was none too kind to them. In fact, such has been the case for all of the M&Ds I have owned. You can see in the pictures, the damage that was done. The bases have scuff marks and a few minor chips and one speaker has a crack at the top right. Otherwise, quite honestly, they are in fine shape, as you should be able to see. I do not have the original covers.
Good news, next. All of the cross-over resistors have been replaced with Duelunds, the binding posts to the DREAMS drivers have been replaced with Eichmann Bayonets and all of the poor, original wiring has been replaced. I do have the covers for the built-in Omni Harmonizers and the original spikes.
I do not want to ship as the crate, in which they shipped, was damaged and tossed.....and they weigh 165 pounds each! So, I will offer local pick up and I am willing to drive a reasonable distance to accommodate the buyer.

Questions for the seller
I am very interested in your speakers but I am too far to pick it up. If you changed your mind to ship it let me know. Regards,Chris [filtered]
Hi Chris, Thank you for your interest. I will keep you in mind as the ad runs. Shipping these monsters is not easy. As stated in the ad, I do not have the box/crate in which they were shipped, so something would have to be built or bought. I know my ad says "shipper pays", but that's in the ad because I was forced to choose by Audiogon. Since I did not intend to ship, I chose "shipper pays". These would have to be sent by truck as they are far too big and heavy for UPS or FedEx. Shipping by freight would cost $500 to $600. Remember.... they are far more delicate than their weight, size or construction would lead you to believe. However, if you wanted to arrange for crating and shipping, that's another matter altogether. Regards, Russ
