MBL 8011AM mono block pair, black & gold. [Expired]

The MBL 8011AM is a mono amplifier that outputs 210 watts into 8 ohms, 310 watts into 4 ohms, or 380 watts into 2 ohms. Because they’re mono, I am selling them as a pair. They are quite smooth and neutral sounding, and could be mistaken for a modern tube design if you didn’t know that they are in fact solid state. These offer all the advantages of a solid state design, for example, unweighted S/N ratio of 115 db (RCA inputs) and 117 db (XLR inputs) and a damping factor of 200 into 4 ohms. They run cool at normal listening levels. They benefit from custom power cords, as do all high-end amplifiers.

I bought them with my MBL 111E speakers, and because the speakers are very inefficient (i.e., 83 db) I have replaced them with MBL 9007 amps. Indeed, MBL has discontinued the 8011AM because they should only be mated with the smallest MBL speakers. However, if your speakers are anything else with normal current requirements and a more typical efficiency, the 8011AM mono blocks are among the best sounding that you could find. Please ask me if you have any questions.

These amps are functionally flawless, and cosmetics are excellent. White specks visible in the photos are dust, not defects. I haven’t noticed any visible flaws.

These will be shipped in their original packing material and boxes, together with instruction manuals and warranty paperwork, cloth covers, and the stock power cords that they are issued with. They must be insured for their full value when shipped. Weight is 55 lbs. each.

If you are located outside of the U.S., please be aware that your government may impose an import duty and this additional cost will be your responsibility. Payment can be made by cashier’s check or by Paypal, although using Paypal costs an additional 3% for transfers within the U.S., or 4% for international transfers.
