McCormack Audio MPD with SMc revision B upgrade and SMc custom build 400V toroidal external power supply with 5 ft.Neutrik power cord. This is an outstanding phono pre-amp that also has Cardas RCA input/output upgrade including the WBT next-generation in the input. The massive custom power supply isn't pretty (the plated hole in the back was moving the power cord, hense the 6 rating) but offers unmatched control, powerful bass and unlimited dynamics. The power supply measures 6 x 6 x 4" and weighs approximately 12 lbs and is signed by Steve McCormack. The Grade B upgrades can be read about on SMc webpage. This is a MM/MC pre-amp with a high gain of +55 dB for MC, and a low gain of +40dB for MM. Output impedance is 100ohms. Load resistance is fully adjustable by switching resistors which plug into marked sockets...it's easy. Included is a resistor kit I purchased of SMc including a 1K, 499R, and 205R. With no resistors plugged in the default is of course 47K. I'll be happy to set it up with any of the loadings prior to shipping if you like, the manual describes it clearly. The upgrades cost $435 plus $125 for the toroidal supplied to SMC to build the power supply. I have the receipts and the manual. My asking price of $450 is less than the cost of the upgrades. No Paypal fee. I also have a 3 ft Signal power cord which I used with this pre-amp, but is to short now, I will include it with my asking price. Thanks for looking. Questions for the seller |
---|
Do you have the original wall-mart power supply that came with this? No, and it couldn't be used anyway as the system was reconfigured for the new power supply using the xlr power cord to connec tthe two pieces. The ad was supposed to have pictures, but Audiogon screwed up. Send me your [filtered] and I will send pictures.
