For your consideration are my beloved MC30s. Born in Binghamton, NY in 1956 these beauties came into my possession in 2006 and were promptly sent off to renowned McIntosh guru Terry DeWick for overhaul and updating; he “voiced” them to retain the classic MC30 sound. Terry’s work is impeccable; the amps are dead quiet at idle through my Klipsch La Scalas and sound simply marvelous playing music…the MC30s are perhaps the ultimate McIntosh experience….you know this otherwise you would have ignored this ad. These amps have not been mucked with in any way. Face it, $2800 is a fair price for these magnificent amps.

They are in excellent condition with just a touch of pitting on the chrome; the script is all there and the transformers (both amps have the M-150-B and M-152-B transformers) maintain their original paint and are not dented. The RCA jacks, speaker terminals and pots work as they should. The amps come with four matched SED 6L6GC power tubes along with EH 5U4s and a mixture of Telefunken and RCA 12 AU7s and 12AX7s, and the 12 BH7s are RCAs. The Teles and RCAs alone are worth several hundreds of dollars and all tubes test near NOS levels.

Since Terry’s work I have only put maybe 60 hours on the amps as I have too many amps in my stable. These need a good home where they will be operated constantly, as they were meant to be. If my price is met I will also include a matched quad of Russian 6L6GCs (a very underrated tube) for your listening pleasure.

Both amps will be sent in two separate double-box configurations and the tubes will all be sent in yet a third box for their safety. I will wrap for nuclear winter as I always do. We will need to discuss the final price of shipping the three boxes. I will NOT ship overseas. I prefer money order or a certified bank check; Paypal is OK, but if you use Paypal you will have to pay the 3.5% fee tacked on to the final price.

As you know the new Audiogon system only works properly when it feels like it, and that is seldom. Smarter to call Steve at 570 888 3356 between 9 and 9 Eastern Time and we’ll get the deal done. Low ballers will be ignored. Why? Because these are originals and have been cared for in a smoke free, pet free, dedicated listening room; they are in wonderful condition for their age. Don’t miss this opportunity to own these perfectly operating examples of high fidelity history. They will last you a lifetime; heirlooms to be handed down through generations.
