DESCRIPTION:
Up for sale is a PRISTINE McIntosh MC7100! I think this is one of the most “underrated” McIntosh amplifiers in the family. This version is the most desirable of the production run as it has both XLR (balanced) and RCA inputs (older models only had RCA).
You can Google “MC7100” to pull up all the reviews and see what everyone is saying about this amplifier. I would say it has a little more speed and detail than the newer McIntosh amplifiers, but are not bright by any means. And, they deliver very tight and strong bass!
This MC7100 was mated to my McIntosh C40 and drove my Harbeth Compact 7ES3s with ease! The only reason I am selling is I went the tube route (MC275) and I no longer need it. I probably put about 25 hours on it.
I obtained this amplifier from a respected Audiogon member who purchased it from Audio Classics. This was rated as a “B1”, so it easily qualifies for a 9/10 Audiogon rating. For those of you who have not purchased equipment from Audio Classics, “B1” is the best used rating they have!
If shipping is required, I will use the rigid Audio Classic double boxes and packaging material (VERY STURDY).
