McIntosh MR67 R. Modafferi Mod./Audio Classics

Up for Sale is a handsome example of a restored and modified MR-67 performed by Richard Modafferi on behalf of Audio Classics in Vestal, NY Mr. Modafferi is an internationally known inventor,engineer, and designer who created the Mac MR77 & 78 and holds numerous patents in the Audio World. This unit for sale is a personal favorite, and to my ears, perhaps the most "Musical" of all Mac's ever produced. A "World-Class" tuner. I rated it conservatively as a 7/10 . No lettering issues, bubbles,etc. (1) tiny microchip behind the glass and a very few tiny scratches on(2) knobs . I'm being very critical. It works perfectly, having been through a 12 hour restoration by Richard. The work was performed on Sept. 5, 2006. Included with purchase is original invoice with breakdown of all replaced components, modifications made, and critique of original received condition. Mr. Modafferi's signature accompanies every unit internally which this example proudly shows. I would estimate I have placed approx. 300 hours on it since restoration. Performs like a pro, with great capture ratio, strong signal strength, the sweet sound of tubes. I am including an Original McIntosh Pan-Loc genuine first-issue genuine solid walnut case(non-restored). This is the slant leg version and becoming quite difficult to find. Also included are reproduction copies of both original owner's and service manuals. I'm also including a custom-made dust cover for the unit which covers the tuner in full at N/C (A $100 value alone). This tuner is available for local pickup only. (Brooklyn, NY 11229).
