This excellent DVD/CD player has a new disk drive and laser assembly. It is the single wear item(other than the tiny cooling fan) so replacing it makes the overall condition almost new, with less than 8 hours playing time! The original drive sometimes would stick when opening. If due to wear, there was no better solution than to replace the drive. I understand that when certain Rolls Royce owners have a flat, they replace all four tires! CD and DVD playback has exceptional detail and imaging due to its advanced digital design including buffers and internal clock to eliminate jitter. There is a reason why it listed for $4475 in 2002. The video playback is excellent via component video. It has both digital coax and toslink optical outputs as well as RCA delivering signal from its advanced DAC. The owner's manual and remote control is included that also operates the 561 preamp/processor.
