I’m reluctantly selling my mint condition Metrum Octave. Because of uninsured surgery expenses, I’m downsizing my audio system to release some cash. I just sold my Off-Ramp4 USB to SPIDF converter and now the Metrum. The DAC and 115 VAC power supply are silver. It will be shipped in the original foam padded factory box with a 2nd box around that (double boxed). Total shipping weight is 6lbs and shipping dimensions are 12” x 14” x 6”.
Here’s a link to the manufacturer’s website:
Here’s a link to the 6moons review that put this DAC on the “must have” list:
In my experience, the Metrum combined with a high quality converter like an Off-Ramp, an Audiophellio, or a JKSPIDF (John Kenny) converter is the best sounding DAC that you’ll find under $5,000.
I paid $1,050 plus $65 shipping and received this DAC (new) in December of 2011. I’m the first owner and it has been lightly used and installed in a non-smoker audiophile environment since I received it.
I’m asking $875 for this beautiful DAC. Purchaser will pay actual shipping cost and 3.5% PayPal fee if PayPal if used. I’ll pay the Audiogon fee. I’m not willing to accept less for the DAC so please don’t ask.
Included are the Metrum Octave DAC, the power supply that comes with it, the umbilical cord to connect both together, and a generic power cable that came with it. It is packed in the original shipping box along with manual and ready to ship now.
Waiting time for a new Metrum Octave from the factory is currently around 8 weeks. This is an extremely sought after DAC and the chance to purchase a “like new” one and have it shipped immediately at a substantial savings is a real benefit.
If you have any questions, please send me a PM on this system.
The photos I’ve included were taken yesterday.
