Why so cheap? I bought this nice MM Phono stage awhile back, but it came damaged in shipping. I found that the on/off knob was slightly bent and didnt turn. My dad is a retired Delta Mechanic and has built lots of TV's and radios for a hobby..I had him look at it before I scrapped it or spent more than it may be worth to fix it..
A simple fix was to disconnect the actual switch from the back of the front plate and knob and secure it inside the chassis. The elctronics are unaffected as is the Blue Led which works as it should when powered up.
All you need to do is either plug the unit in or connect it to a power conditioner with a switched source. The other great thing is that there is NO other damage to the pre amp. There is no cosmetic damage or damage to the tubes, and actually it will be hard to even notice the slightly crooked on/off knob!
I would keep it, but I sold off my Vinyl system awhile ago. So, if you dont mind not using the switch, you have a excellent phono pre amp at a crazy good price! Do a search..this is a very good phono pre amp with tube rectification. uses 2- 6N3's, 1-5687, 1- 12AX7, and 1- 6N1 tubes.
4/10 rating NOT for cosmetics, but for issue as described above.
