This is a pair of well cared for Sonus faber Concertino speakers. I am the original owner and these were purchased in 2001. The leather is in good shape (seams at the bottom are flush) and the solid walnut exterior is unmarked. Grills are clean. They have spent the last five years stored in plastic, in their original boxes, in my apartment. I pulled them out today to test and photograph them and they sound (and look) excellent. Rated 8/10 for age only.
These speakers get so much right -- voices, strings, pace, soundstaging, musicality -- it's hard to let them go, but I have upgraded so it's time to let someone else enjoy them.

| Thoughts on how well they would sound sitting on a media console being driven by a Linn Sneaky DSM? In my experience, I'm guessing that they would be fine, but they generally prefer having the tweeters up around ear level. 33wpc is close to a minimum, but even at 86db they're a pretty easy load. They were engaging when I partnered it with a 10w single-ended amp. They're forgiving speakers with most recordings and the highs are sweet but rolled off. |
