This listing is for a Wharfedale Jade C1 center channel speaker. This real vintage cherry wood veneer speaker is in excellent condition! It was purchased 18 mos. ago from a local High-End store, placed on a shelf and used sparingly (I primarily listen to two channel). We have changed the furniture in our main theater room and this fine speaker no longer fits. It was used with matching Jade 3 (sold) and Jade 7 (soon to be posted for sale).

The Advantages of Aperiodic Cabinet Loading
Aperiodic simply in speaker terms, "without resonance." Both reflex loading and closed box speakers are normally full of resonance. One problem associated with this resonance is that the system continues to produces sound after the music has stopped. At its worst, the bass takes on a boomy quality, but even when controlled, this resonance can still blur the clarity of the low end, making instruments sound unnatural and indistinct. Aperiodic loading overcomes this problem while still allowing for the port to extend the low end of the speaker.
