Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista 21 DAC. Tube based 24 bit digital to analog converter, Stereophile Class A rated.
It has one optical and one digital input (no USB), with RCA stereo outputs. While you can select the inlut manually, it will automatically lock-on to a live input. The sound is wonderful. It adds a special warmth to the digital signal, kind of like the digital equivalent of a warm candle. It is built like a tank (damn thing weighs 30 lbs), and the other cool thing is that the feet have a frosted window with internal LED's. The feet glow orange when you first turn the unit on, and then turn to blue when the tubes warm up. How cool is that? Also, 96 / 192 Hz selector switch to select sample rate.
Not upgraded. Original tubes as far as I know. 100% functional. Don't know the mfg date, but the serial number is T2Y1553. Very minor scratches on the top of the unit, and some minor marks on the front panel. Will be shipped well packaged in a foam lined shipping box.
I currently have way too much surplus gear, and the tax man has his hand open, so I am looking to trim my quiver a bit.
