The Musical Fidelity V-Link is a 24-bit, 96 kHz asychronous USB to S/PDIF converter with coax and optical output. I used this for a few months to take USB output from an iMac to a DAC that didn’t have optical input.
It is in perfect condition with no visible defects of any kind and has always worked flawlessly. I don’t have the plastic blister pack it came in but will pack very securely.
The V-Link has zero jitter, as measured by Hi-Fi News. It has Musical Fidelity’s unique proprietary asynchronous digital control system feedback technology software. It got very positive reviews on stereophile.com and gramaphone.com. Some sample quotes:
“With the V-Link’s price of just $169, it becomes difficult to justify recommending other USB-S/PDIF converters.”
“Whether streaming music from my hard-disk storage over the home network, or with high-quality internet streamed services, the V-Link/netbook combination sounded magical – and I don’t use the term lightly, such was my surprise at just what could be achieved for so little.”
