Naim AV2 Processor/Preamplifier

For sale is a Naim AV2 Preamp/surround sound processor Unit which is very high end and popular among audio aficionados. It is very attractively styled and good cosmetic condition (a few dings and minor blemishes).

The Naim AV2 can be used either as a high-quality preamplifier/processor or as a processor in addition to an existing stereo system. For example, the NAIT XS, when used with the AV2, will amplify the right and left channels. The remaining surround and centre channels are amplified using our three-channel NAPV 175 power amplifier. For enhanced 6.1 or 7.1 surround sound a further NAP 155 XS will be required.

Only preamp included. There are no interconnects (DIN to phono/rca, etc.) or manual included.

This home cinema processor features programmable input selection so all inputs can be associated to a source type such as dvd, cd, tuner or bluray. The processor is smart enough to select the relevant decoding required. It has separate A-D and D-A converters and is equipped to handle 24 bit 96 kHz sound from music or movies. Alternatively direct mode doesn't use digital processing so you can have great stereo as well.

Low-vibration, cast and machined aluminum chassis and cover are used for this component. Microphonic sound quality degradation very much reduced by low-energy-transfer feet system and proprietary decoupling pillars for circuit board mounting.

Integrated power supply uses a custom design toroidal transformer with separate analogue and digital windings and additional screening which reduces RFI from the mains supply. The Naim AV2 home cinema uses high quality features such as: TAC (Time Aligned Analogue Filter Circuitry); high grade, close tolerance Polystyrene capacitors and metal film resistors; and LED Display technology which is used to minimize electrical noise - the display can be turned off to further improve sound quality.
