Elegant NHT VS-2 Center Channel Speaker with Flawless All-Original Drivers in Stunning Gloss Black Finish.

NHT is one of those small speaker manufacturers that does not get the respect it is due. Chris Byrne and Ken Kantor started NHT in California in 1987, and the company has weathered financial storms as well as overseas investor upheaval to still maintain a consistent high quality product and extremely high value. To me they are the Adcom of the speaker world, not just an excellent product in terms of build quality and sound reproduction, but a really superb value. While there are rumours that NHT has recently met its demise in 2009, it is not true as they have re-configured their business model and now have reformed themselves into a direct to consumer manufacturer along the lines of Ohm Acoustics, Swan, HSU, Outlaw, Newform Research, and many others who are adopting a new business strategy in this challenging business climate. It is an excellent company producing tremendous value in a very crowded market, and I hope that they survive.

This is an excellent performing center channel speaker that is also quite elegant with its high gloss mirror finish. And it sounds incredible! The drivers are all original and look and perform flawlessly, the only exception is that one of the woofer dust caps has a slight bit of deformity. The high gloss cabinet is overall in beautiful condition as you can see in the photos, however there is one substantial blemish. It is underneath the speaker, where there is a ding right next to the edge, it is mostly visible from the bottom, but peeks just a little bit on the side bottom edge. The grill is in excellent condition, but there are three small holes arrayed near the center. Other than that, there are a few microscopic flaws visible in harsh light, and otherwise the speaker looks in beautiful condition. There is a bracket in the back to adjust the angle of the speaker when placed on a flat surface. Note that there are also some threaded holes in the back designed to accept wall bracketry - I do not have the corresponding bracket.
