NOW AT REDUCED PRICE! This is the only pair of High-Gloss Rosewood NOLA Pegasus X-treme loudspeakers I know of to ever make it into the USA. I bought them when I was the NOLA distributor in 2006. They went to the Las Vegas CES in 2007 (they showed with Edge Electronics), and then straight back to my showroom, where they have been carefully stored ever since. This pair of speakers is essentially brand-new, and have been played less than 200 hours, so they still need to be really played-in. They are furnished with a full tri-wire set of Nola Black Orpheus loudspeaker cables with Nordost Valhalla jumpers. The X-Treme crossover uses all of the exotic European caps that NOLA was into at the time (they still use these German caps in the Exotica/Grand series), and come with the NOLA floating ball-bearing platforms for the crossover boxes. I would rate this pair at 8/10+ to 9/10, as they are about as perfect physically (and electrically) as they can be. You can easily see from the photos the mirror-like finish of the speakers and crossovers, and the bass drivers are all of the updated magnesium SEAS versions that superseded the original pulp drivers, with bass response that is both deeper and tighter than with the originals. With the sub-woofer modules working in tandem with the bass drivers in the main cabinets, these Pegasus speakers are capable of true full-symphonic levels of dynamics and impact, and will also play rock-and-roll as loudly as most anyone would ever want, give an amp of sufficient grunt. I have copied here a direct link to a pdf file of Roy Gregory’s review of the original model Pegasus (before the upgrades on this model) in Hi Fi+; it is excellent reading, so please check it out: http://www.box.net/shared/75xmee2hu2 All of the things that Roy said about the original models are magnified and improved with this version. Original retail price for this set of speakers was $55,000. I really need to move them, as I am no longer a NOLA dealer, so I am offering them for $13,500. Serious inquiries only, please. I will accept cash, Postal Money Orders, Cashier’s Checks, or personal checks after clearing. I will also accept PayPal, though with the insistence that the buyer pay an extra 3%. ALL shipping charges (shipping will be fully insured) are to be paid by the buyer. This is not negotiable. I have the original (high-quality) large shipping crates for the speakers, and I will pack them correctly and ship anywhere in the world if needed.
