AKG K1000 Headphones - [ Low Hours / Pelican Case / Upgraded Speaker Cable ]

If you haven't been fortunate to own these or only been able to see or demo these for a few minutes, what truly makes them stand out is that they sit on your head like little speakers. The speaker enclosure uses a vibration-free diaphragm that is driven by a magnet system to minimize any interference or distortion and really provide a personalized listening experience.

The speakers actually open and close using adjustable hinges and locks - both work very well. Many used ones you will find will have broken switches. Having the ability to open and close the distance and angle of the speaker is truly a unique feature.

This specific pair is in very good, fully functional condition. The temple pads are in very good condition with minor signs of wear but they are defintely in great shape for their age and are firmly attached. The switches that allow for each speaker to lock or oscilliate are in perfect condition and the hinges are very smooth. It includes the original wooden case and the headphones have not been modified. The wooden case is in great shape with one small chip near the top. Due to the fragility of the wooden case, I will provide a Pelican Case custom made to fit these perfectly and have space for the attached stock cable. This keeps your AKG K1000s safe as it is crush proof, waterproof, and dust proof (so they say). Frequency Response charts were taken from both L and R channels using Omnimic, performed by a sound engineer using the same methodology for speaker testing. These tested very well and consistent. Will provide upon request.

In summary, what you're getting here is a really rare find at this point. Each year these become harder and harder to find in good condition, or they're missing the wooden case, manual, etc. Not only does this include all of that but it includes our custom speaker tap adapter cable (over $200 value) and travel/protection case (over $200 value). I can provide a PDF or printed copy of the manual if you prefer. Headphone stand not included in this sale, but will include for 40 USD if desired. It's brand new, made from steel/aluminum and sells new for close to 70 EUR. 

Generally, you can find a pair of acceptable AKG K1000s from between $1,500+ depending on condition. Given the additional accessories we have made to improve the listening experience and durability, I find to be a very fair price, and expect these to go fast. Please do not try to low ball me as extensive time and energy went into procuring all of this.
