This headphone is S/N 41178. It does NOT include a cable.
It has the ‘french mod’ installed. This is a small Helmholtz resonator installed in the center of the grill underneath the thin mesh that lays on top. It is made by a guy in France who put much work into replicating something similar that Sennheiser added to the HD800S. Tyll at InnerFidelity verified it does a nice job reducing the 6K resonance these cans are known for. Since it doesn’t have the added base 2nd harmonic of the HD800S it is actually now the more accurate headphone. See Inner Fidelity for review of this mod and measurements.
The headphones have the best sound you will find for $599. Since most folks end up with some form of aftermarket cable for balanced or other reasons the fact these don’t include the stock cable isn’t really an issue. Please no lower offers, the price is firm.
There are a few minor dings on the edges as the photos show; otherwise, it is in excellent condition.
If I hadn’t upgraded to the Focal Utopia I wouldn’t be selling them.
