The Prasound Halo P3 is a great Pre-Amp that boxes way above its reasonable price tag. Don’t believe me, read the many reviews, both professional and personal, that you can find online. An easy example, The Stereo Times Greg Petan (8 April 2003) reviewed the Halo P3/A21 combo and said:
“I did some listening after a brief warm-up period and I'd have to say, any audiophile on a budget could well start and stop their search right here. The Halo combination offered up more than a mouthful of the audiophile pie.”

The P3 has a clean, clear sound offering all the connections anyone could want (both balanced and unbalanced) – including two ‘direct’ connections that take the optional processing out of the path.
I’m not the first owner, so I’ve reflected that in my rating, but this unit is in great shape – no noticeable scratches or dings. There is a small ‘smudge’ on the front left wing that if you can get in the right light you can faintly see (check the pictures). Also please note, this unit was rack mounted and does not come with the original feet. Because of that a set of Vibrapod #2 feet were installed by the prior owner. I purchased the unit with these feet installed, but I believe this upgrade offers a nice improvement over the standard (somewhat ‘basic’) feet. I believe new standard feet can be purchased from Parasound directly if really desired. I never had the original manual, but printed the pdf from the Parasound website and will include.
Why am I selling?...I just bought this preamp from another Audiogon member, and then decided to take my system in a different direction (running my sources direct to power amp - no preamp).
