K&K Audio Phono Preamplifier All Updates and Mods

This is the previous version built from kit by the person I purchased from; he did OK, but in the time I’ve had the unit several changes were made.

The MC gain is reset to the middle range (x10 – 20dB) gain which works well for 0.3 – 0.35 mV cartridges.

The pcbs have been cleaned up as all available updates have been performed, now being equivalent to a K&K “Maxxed Out” Phono Preamplifier.

The critical Cardas capacitors were replaced; the output caps were changed to Mundorf Supreme and the RIAA caps were changed to Auricap XO Film. (The Cardas caps will be included.)

The unit now sounds amazing.

The preamp uses the 6N1P tube. You will receive:

In addition you will receive the K&K assembly DVD as well as all previously printed assembly sheets and some extra parts left from the build.

You should know there are instructions for setting the plate voltages as well as adjusting the overall sound of the preamplifier. The sound can easily be changed from romantic to sharp and precise, volt meter required. It is currently set to slightly on the precise side which
sounds perfect to me.
