Acoustat Spectra 3300

For sale today is a pair of Acoustat Spectra 3300 planar speakers.

Chances are if you've clicked on these you already know what they are, but if you don't, the Acoustat Spectra series are one of the more highly regarded electrostats of history.

Utilizing three electrostatic panels, one that handles only bass, one bass and mids, and another full range, the 3300s handle voices, piano, and stringed instruments with the spooky realism and imaging that stats are famous for.

The cream colored sock could use to be removed and thrown in the washer, or a new one can still today be ordered (black is also available) from the upholstery company in Arizona that has always made them (I can put you in contact with them).

These 3300s have been hard wired for full range, bypassing the switch that uses the crossover and subwoofers, which are also not included. This is a good thing - those subs never integrated well and if you want to cross these over it is far more desirable to use a premium outboard modern crossover and find subs which are fast enough to work with these. One of the bypass switches is removed due to having been broken - I have the part if you want it. Condition is rated at 6/10 for these reasons, which have nothing to do with their sound, and in fact in the case of the bypassed switch, the sound is improved.

Apart from the above, these Spectras are ready to go. Acoustats are extremely reliable and will serve you well for decades more.

I prefer local pickup, but will also deliver these to most places in the USA and help set them up. This option will cost $300 due to the need to rent a van and do all the driving. These speakers are large and delicate and I wouldn't ship them with a third party.
