Magnepan MMG - with upgrades and < a year old

Selling my Magnepan MMG speakers upgraded with Sound Anchor stands and Hi-Fi Tuning fuses . The speakers are just under a year old and are in practically new condition. Per lots of owners' recommendations, I replaced the stock fuses with Hi-FI Tuning fuses and the improvement is noticeable. The Sound Anchor stands also made an audible positive difference by adding significant rigidity to the speaker frames. I really love the sound quality, particularly the midrange and treble. They just sound very open and airy. Jazz and vocals particularly sound clean and present. I bought these speakers because I was always curious to hear what planar speakers sounded like and the only reason I'm selling them is I just feel my room does not allow enough space behind the speakers to get the expansive and deep soundstage that they are capable to deliver. They still make a good size stage between them even with a couple of feet away from the back and side walls but I know they can do much better with the right placement. Of course as you probably already know, planar speakers in general need an amplifier that can handle 4 ohm load and I've had great results using my McIntosh MC2200 which delivers 200 wpc into 4 ohms. We have no kids, no pets, and no one smokes in the house.

I have all the factory boxes, stock stands and fuses which I'll obviously pass on to the new owner.

I think my asking price is fair especially with the Sound Anchor stands and the upgraded fuses which cost around $275. I can pack the speakers nicely in the original boxes and put the stands in a separate box but I prefer to sell these locally.

I'm in the Jersey Shore area, about an hour south of NYC and about an hour east of Philadelphia. Local buyers are of course welcome to audition them before purchase. I can probably even stream your familiar music using my Tidal hifi subscription to help you compare. If you've never heard Magnepan speakers, you'll be very impressed with the crisp and detailed sound.
