Selling my gorgeous Proceed AVP-2 pre/pro. Absolutely incredible performance as a DAC/Preamp - I moved from an Aesthetix Calypso preamp ($5,000) and Weiss Minerva DAC ($5,000) to the AVP2 as I wanted to simplify the rig and have bass management and room correction and did not find the AVP2 wanting in any way. This really is a remarkable piece that I found lives up to its vaunted reputation - it should, as it shares many of the internals and software of the $30,000 Mark Levinson No.40 off which it was based.

I've been asked about 24/192 capability several times in emails, so will post the information here. This is taken directly from the manual:

"The AVP2 shares the same type of powerful DSP engine used in the Mark Levinson NÂș40 Media Console, employing multiple Analog Devices SHARC DSP chips in a Madrigal-designed operating system. The AVP2 includes eight channels of digital to analog conversion, all of which can process and convert 192 kHz digital information. In addition, all volume controls within the AVP2 are implemented in the analog domain, allowing the DACs to run at their maximum resolution at all times. (This approach stands in contrast to digital volume controls, which operate by requiring the converters to operate at less than their maximum capabilities. After all, what would be the point of having 24 bit/192 kHz music formats if you end up throwing away much of the improvement in a digital volume control?)"

I bought this AVP2 from Audiogon a few months ago as I was curious about all the hype. It so blew me away that I immediately sent it into the factory authorized service center to have it completely overhauled - I asked that anything not operating at 100% be replaced, and nearly $600 later it's got a bunch of new parts inside, including the display which nearly always needs to be replaced, and the latest firmware. Cosmetically it looks excellent - I can't find any blems on it whatsoever; I'm very particular about my gear - note all the unused jacks on the rear are covered.

If you've been looking for an AVP2, here's a chance to pick up a very clean unit that's been recently serviced and looks and functions like new!

8 condition is only due to me not being the original owner - audigon states 9's are for one-owner pieces only.

Included is the original double box and packaging, manual, power cord, and remote.

Thanks!
