I used this wonderful sound processor in my home theater for most of the past 10 years. Now, with downsizing this is one of the components that I must give up. It puts out incredible sound.
It's been in the box for the past 8 month or so, but I plugged it in and powered up the unit and it went through the diagnostics without issue. The only minor inconvenience is that the button on the front to take the unit out of standby mode is not functional. The remote works fine - takes it out of standby - or you can bring it up by pushing one of the input selection buttons on the front of the unit.
Following are pointers to reviews...
"So devoid of processing noise, background hash and other compound-channel swill is the DC-1 that you'll feel ashamed for ever thinking that its extra effects can be likened to similar processes on low-end receivers pretending to be home-theatreware."

"When you talk about audio/video equipment flexibility, there is configurable and there is CONFIGURABLE."

"For something so old, the DC1 never ceases to amaze me. It can still blow any modern receiver when it comes to surround processing. "
