This classic PS Audio amplifier was known as a "poor man's Krell" in its day. Extremely robust construction and superb sound, especially for its price. This one was professionally serviced last year at a cost of $300, which included new Nichicon Muse capacitors. It sounds fantastic -- very transparent, detailed and authoritative -- but I must mention that I sometimes hear a faint buzzing noise coming from the right channel, especially before the amp is fully warmed up and when playing "quiet" music such as solo piano. It's not really noticeable under most conditions -- I'm very picky about anomalies -- but I wanted to make potential buyers aware of the issue. Other than that minor flaw, it's a great amp. I'm selling it only because I bought a new, more expensive one.
There are no major cosmetic flaws -- no significant scratches or dings that I can see, particularly on the front faceplate, which is as perfect as they come. You likely won't find an example of this amp in better condition.
The 200CX comes with two sets of RCA inputs -- AC and DC (the included manual explains the difference) and an integral power cord. It weighs about 65 pounds, but isn't too hard to carry with the rear handles. Its standard 17'' width makes it easy to fit in audio racks.
Any shipping costs will be borne by the buyer, but the PayPal fee is included in the asking price.
