The Aleph-X was the DIY attempt to approximate the first generation of XA series amps. There are several very extensive threads on this project. It was sort of the ultimate DIY project in the early 2000s. This amp includes a laundry list of very high quality parts--including a bamboo face--which I've lost, but I would be happy to take a photo if that helps. I've had it in the closet, but it works fine. The sound is not like the current XA.5 or First Watt amps. There is some Class A warmth, but the level of clarity and detail is the thing. The bass is considerably less than the XA.5. This item was originally sold to me as about 60 watts, but I think the reality is more like 30. No big deal. This unit is very heavy, and it runs VERY hot--which is not surprising for a dual mono design in a single case. This is really a great amp at a great price. Again, everything works just fine. RCA and XLR. No box, no manual, no power cord. No international or Canadian shipping. Thanks.
