Here's your chance to get into the top of the line Rega Turntable (P9) with a truly astounding mounted Dynavector XX2 cartridge (one of the best suited cartridges for this incredible turntable - the other is the Apheta, a little leaner I'm told). The turntable was purchased as used from a fellow Audiogonner - The cartridge (Dynavector XX2) was purchased new ~3 mo ago and professionally mounted at Music For Pleasure by the Dynavector rep himself (Dynavector is based out of St. Louis, Missouri) using all professional gear to appropriately mount the cartridge, and set the counter-balance and anti-skate.
Since receiving I have used ~50 hours over the past month. While it is truly astounding, I have made a very difficult decision to go all digital - and while this clearly sounds better than my modified Oppo BDP-95 (digital source), much more natural, and bass that is unbelievable!!! I have decided that as amazing a hobby this is - I will leave the analog option for someone with more time than I (ohhh...it's really tempting to just keep it!)
Unit functions flawlessly, there is one small imperfection in the finish on the surround wood (see picture), and the resin cover has a few small mars/scrapes - very minor - just from normal day-to-day use.
The cartridge has been cared for extra carefully, always cleaned from back-to-front with stylus brush, and only mint / near mint records have been played on this unit since installing the new cartridge
EXTRA: Comes with original felt mat plus I am tnrowing in two upgrades
-White belts (and old black belts)
-Herbies $149 Grungebuster Turntable (white) mat
I WOULD PREFER LOCAL PICK UP IN ST LOUIS ONLY - the professionaly mounted cartridge is simply too fragile to ship. You're welcome to stop by for an audition - West St. Louis County, Missouri - Serious Buyers only. IF YOU INSIST ON SHIPPING, THAT IS OKAY, BUT NOTE THAT THE CARTRIDGE WILL BE UNMOUNTED AND SHIPPED IN A SEPARATE BOX.
OPTIONAL: If you want a great sounding phono pre-amp. I have the PS Audio - Underwood - Parts Connexion modified Phono Preamp (with remote) that I will throw in for an extra $900 (retail $1,495 - used for
