Has been used for playback of prerecorded and master tapes. You can not imagine the quality of sound coming from tapes. Far superior to records or CDs and on those occasions I have been able to listen to master tapes c'est incredable! This unit is in excellent condition showing little to no wear on the heads and is dead on for transport speed and performance. I also have a good quantity of new 10 inch reels of tape which you may purchase. I will be keeping a restored G36 for playback . The meter bulbs need to be replaced, ( readily available) on ebay. I also have an Ampex 602-2 7.5 ips , 7 inch reel to reel in incredible condition, if you are interested.
