Rives Audio PARC 3-Band Parametric Equalizer.
The PARC is a Parametric Adaptive Room Compensation system. One of the largest problems in typical listening rooms is standing waves or room modes (bass modes) caused by parallel walls. The PARC is specifically designed to alleviate this problem.
High frequencies can be absorbed, diffused, or diffracted with materials that can potentially be disguised to promote domestic harmony. However, low frequencies require devices of much greater proportion. Electronic EQ can be effectively implemented without introducing significant distortion or noise in the midrange, where the ear is most sensitive.
PARC shows signs of handling and one screw is missing from the top plate. New retail is $4000.
