Up for auction is what I consider to be Rotel's sweetest sounding integrated amp (yes, I've heard the RA-1520: same sound, different sheet metal), the RA-1062. Aside from being a compact (albeit heavy) unit, it offers a ton of features, including a very respectable MM phono input, the ability to drive two sets of speakers, speaker selector and 60 of the cleanest, most authoritative watts per channel that I've heard in a long time. On top of that, it comes with the newer RR-AT94 remote (which will control a Rotel RCD-1072 and RT-1080/1084).
I've used this in my office system to power a pair of Focal 806V speakers, admittedly a very easy load. And lately (ok, no snickering here....) I've used it as a preamp to power the RB-1080 (because an office really needs a 200 WPC amp.....). Quite honestly, the combination of the RT-1084 with the RA-1062 is just stellar! Crystal clear, non fatiguing, eerily holographic. Using the RA-1062 as a pre also allowed to compare it to the RC-1070 preamp that just arrived: nearly identical. If anything, the RC-1070 sounds a bit brighter than the RA-1062 as a pre.
Cosmetically this unit could pass for 10/10 were it not for the tiny, superficial scratch on the top of the faceplate, by the power switch. Other than that, the unit is flawless: perfect front and the sheet metal of the other five sides is as clean as can be: the traditional Rotel black speckle finish is bright and scratch free. To be on the safe side, I've rated the unit a 8/10
The remote is almost perfect save for two spots where the script is partially erased. All the keys work flawlessly and crisply. There is no discoloration of the keys, no dirt or grime anywhere. If, though, you'd like a brand spankin' new remote, the RR-AT94 is available from Rotel for a measly $20.50 + handling (Part #RC40059, there are only 8 left in stock).
I have the original packing and box, both in excellent, crisp condition, the manual (printed out from a PDF) and power chord.
My price of $400 includes PayPal fees and FedEx Ground to anywhere in the Lower-48
