Sansui SR929 turntable

A 35 pound, beautiful direct drive turntable, and it sounds terrific. The best Sansui made. Speed is spot on, quartz lock works as it should. Black finish is excellent and glossy, with one minor chip on the lower right front corner. Tonearm was missing the little string for the anti-state weight, but I've made one and it works as it should. No tonearm issues. Cueing raises and lowers as it should. Headshell is a Sansui. No original dustcover, but you do get a new VPI Scout dustcover that fits the dimensions of this Sansui (19 x 14) exactly. I had to drill a hole for the spindle in the dustcover (The VPI and this Sansui don't quite match up there), and it turned out well. The VPI dustcover looks pretty slick on the turntable. Replacement dustcovers for this turntable are too expensive, and they don't come with the hinges (I don't have the hinges). Besides, you should be taking off the dustcover when playing a record anyway. With the VPI dustcover, you have to take it off to play a record. Comes with a Pickering XSV-3000 cartridge. I don't know the age of the stylus, but I've played about 20 hours of vinyl with it, and it all sounds splendid. Comes with the original RCA cable to hook up to your phono amp.
