Vintage 1964 Sansui TU-70 AM/FM Multiplex stereo tuner in near mint condition with it's original Matsushita and NEC tube compliment as well as it's original instruction manual (includes schematic and parts list), warranty card, and unused registration card! All I did was clean it up and Deoxit the controls and it works beautifully. I tested it connected to a vintage Dynaco PAS-3x preamplifier mated to a Peavey PMA-250 power amplifier and a lovely pair of vintage Acoustic Research AR-5 speakers... excellent sound and great capture ability, but I only have an inexpensive unpowered wire antenna so I'm sure it can sound even better with a decent one! The noise filter works as does the between station muting. All controls are super smooth and positive. The tuner dial lights evenly and the stereo indicator light comes on correctly when a stereo station is tuned in. The magic eye tuning tube also works perfectly. There are no dents anywhere on the unit. The classic Sansui faceplate is in near mint condition with all lettering intact and sharp. All the knobs and switches are present and in mint condition. The attached ferrite AM antenna is perfect as well. The metal case is in near mint condition, but it does have a couple small parallel scratches on the top right that do not go through the paint (I am being VERY picky here). The interior looks excellent, no rust or corrosion that I can see. The tuner weighs about 19 pounds and is built like a tank. The unit is 5 3/8 inches tall (including it's feet), 12 1/2 inches deep from knobs to back edge of fuse holder, and 16 inches wide. Sansui was famous for making some of the finest HI-FI transformers on the planet, and this one is no exception... beautiful! It does look like the original owner at some point in the past did wash the tuner with electronic cleaner so there is some darkish streaking on the chassis. It's only cosmetic though and could easily be buffed off. The unit is sold as I've described and is guaranteed to arrive in the condition you see here. Feel free to check my feedback for how well I pack my vintage equipment. If you've been waiting for this tuner to come up for sale to mate with your matching Sansui AU-70 integrated amplifier, now is your chance! You will not find a better example or be disappointed in this lovely piece of Sansui audio history. Good luck!....PLEASE NOTE TO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS!... I will send the unit via USPS priority mail international only (the best way and best value). Thank you.
