$4,000 Silverline Sonatina II Speakers in Exquisite Rosewood

This listing is for a gorgeous pair of Silverline Sonatina II's in Rosewood Finish. They feature a book matched rosewood veneer with extraordinary figure. Designed and built by award winning speaker designer Alan Yun. I have many of Alan's speakers, including a complete home theater setup featuring a pair of Sonatas in front, Sonatinas in back, and a Center Stage in front. I bought these Sonatina II's for my office and they sound incredible. These are the 4 way design while the original Sonatinas were 3 way, and these sound sweet. I actually prefer these Sonatina II's to the original Sonatinas, and I was going to sell those instead. However, my wife likes the way I have all matching speakers in there now, and the veneer on these Sonatina II's is much darker rosewood (and I think much more beautiful) but they really don't match the others. I barely use them in my office system, so here is your chance to make them your own.

The Sonatas are my favorite speaker that I have owned, beating out some high end Avalons, B&W's, KEF's, ACI, etc. But they are too big even for my 14 X 30 room and you just need a massive room for them. The Sonatinas can fill a big room or a smaller one like my office. They sound great with solid state amps and are very tube friendly and many people use them with Single Ended Triode (SET) amps to great effect. Of all the audio gear I own (and it is a lot!), I love my Silverline speakers the most.

These have some minor cosmetic flaws and for that reason I will price them below their book value and also less than any of the other ones I have seen on Audiogon! They still look terrific as you can see from the photos. However, they do have one banged up corner, one missing grill tab which does not hinder it's ability to stay put, a few veneer bulges and scratches. I rated them 7/10 on the Audiogon scale which I hope is correct, but please see the detailed photos below which show every side of the speakers and check to see if they look good to you and then rate them yourself accordingly.

They sound wonderful and when I had a friend who is a furniture maker come look to see if he could fix the little flaws, he laughed, saying that they were beautiful and said that he could fix the scratches (see below) with a magic marker (I didn't because I did not want to conceal anything). The other flaws consist mainly of tiny spots where the veneer bulges out a little bit, see below for pictures of a couple of these spots. They are very hard to see and harder to photograph. Alan, the designer, said he would try to fix them but I did not think it was worth it for the shipping. The original boxes are the newer ones with the high density foam which is much better than the old ones.

These were $4,000 new and the cheapest pair of Sonatina II's on Audiogon that I have seen was $1,850 (and those came with no boxes), with some as high as $3,200. I charge no fees for Paypal, and I usually ship the next day. Here is your chance to have these wonderful speakers for just $1,750.

In order to provide a higher level of service to our clients worldwide, we have begun the transition to FedEx Express and FedEx Ground for both domestic and international shipping. Our experience is that with the fragile and high value electronics that we offer, FedEx has proven safer, more reliable and more convenient.

Also note that in some areas, FedEx Ground packages are delivered by FedEx Home Delivery service which works Tuesday through Saturday instead of Monday through Friday. Our items are guaranteed to work properly and be in the condition we describe. If we make a mistake, if an item does not work properly, or if the item description is inaccurate, we'll offer you a full and prompt refund or exchange and issue return shipping labels at our expense.

Returns due to reasons other than some deficiency on our part are subject to a 20% restocking fee. This includes sales where the buyer "changes his mind" , where his wife beats him over the head for spending too much money, where some unforeseen crisis, financial or otherwise, strikes the buyer, his family, his friends/business/job/pets/favorite sports team/etc. or any other reason that the buyer may seek to cancel the sale or return the item for some reason other than a mistake or discrepancy on High End Zone's part. And this includes cases where the buyer changes his mind and wants to cancel the sale before he even receives the item, possibly before we even ship it. We are a small company and the moment a buyer commits to purchase one of our items we are redeploying our capital to get other items for our customers to buy. If you decide 2 hours after you buy something that you don't want it anymore, chances are we've already spent the money to restock. So the restocking fee absolutely applies in all cases of buyers changing their minds, wanting to cancel a sale after it is agreed or return an item for any reason other than High End Zone providing a flawed or incorrect item.

We can sometimes make an exception if you change your mind in order to buy something else that we can sell you, generally a higher model. For example, If you make a deal to buy a JL f113 from us and then you decide that what you REALLY want is a Gotham g213, then we can probably work it out to make that switch for you without a restocking fee. That said, please don't buy if you're not sure that you want the item you are buying. If you need to check with your wife, your broker, your business partner, your kids, or the Supreme Court before you buy, please do that. High End Zone cannot be held responsible for any case of wives beating their husbands for spending too much money on good gear.

Please check your purchases promptly upon arrival. A client purchased speakers from us and didn't open them for 6 months, then found that some parts were missing. We are doing our best to get those parts for him at no charge from the manufacturer but it would have been a LOT easier if he'd examined them upon receipt. In general, our policy is that any flaw, damage, missing item, incorrect item, etc. must be reported to High End Zone by email no later than 3 days (72 hours) after that item is delivered. If you are not able to check the item yourself in that time frame, please make the necessary arrangements to have someone else make such a check for you in your absence.
