Adcom GFP565 MINT inc MM/MC

This is for a MINT Adcom GFP 565 preamp. This was a Stereophile B rated preamp. Adcom spared no expense on this preamp. Possibly the best preamp they ever made including the Nelson Pass designed GFP750. Parts quality is second to none. The phono preamp is one of the best as well.

Sterophile compared the phono stage in this preamp to the Audio Research SP-11. The phono stage was deemed as good as the Audio Research. I have owned both and the SP-11 is no better than the Adcom. When you consider, what some pay for the SP-11, how can you lose with the 565? The phono preamp is for MM and high output MC cartridges.

The line stage has a few options including a direct output whereby no caps etc. are in the signal path. I am unsure if they did the review in that mode, if they had, I can not see how this was not rated A. Regardless, you will be hard pressed to find a better preamp REGARDLESS the price.

This is truly, one of the best products Adcom ever made. Use it as a full range preamp or this would be an excellent phono stage. I have used it as a full range preamp. This replaced a much more expensive preamp and I lost nothing. I gained $ in my pocket.
