Classe Ten amplifier, in
excellent condition. The renowned
Classe Ten was the upgraded version of the DR-10 and is conservatively rated at
125 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 250 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Its sound is very dynamic with terrific pace,
rhythm and timing (PRaT) and it throws a wide and deep soundstage; there is no
harshness whatsoever. This really is a
glorious-sounding amplifier. The Classe
Ten starts in Class A and transitions to Class B at around 30 watts (8 ohms; 60
watts for 4 ohms). It has both
single-ended and balanced inputs. I used
this amplifier to drive Thiel 3.5 loudspeakers, which are a difficult load, and
the pairing was magical: the Ten is a commanding amplifier and demonstrates all
the power and authority you could ever ask for.
I’ve moved on to a DIY-based stereo, which is the only reason this
exceptional amplifier is up for sale.
