Musical Fidelity A324 Multistandard 96-192kHz 24 Bit Digital-to-Analog Convertor

Great cosmetic condition with normal signs on wear and no scratches or dents.

Stereophile Magazine Class A Recommended component, sharing the same “A” class with $30,000+ DACs.

If you want to connect it to your laptop via USB you will also need SPDIF converter. There are many such converters available, for example Musical Fidelity V-Link 192.

A324  is a true high-end DAC, very rare on the used market and highly sought by audiophiles.

Retailed for $1,200

Will be professionally packed in a double-box to guarantee safe shipment.

Manual can be downloaded from MF site.

The A324 borrows its design and many of its parts from the Flagship Nu-Vista 3D CD Player ($5,000).

A324 uses Crystal Semiconductor's CS8420 sample-rate converter chip to upsample to 96kHz. An additional chip provides further upsampling to 192kHz.

Upsampled sound also seems more delicate, harmonically. It's not just an easing of the hardness and edginess so long associated with CD. With the A324 there was a rightness about the harmonic presentation. So natural was the sound that I stopped trying to analyze the performance of the processor and simply enjoyed the music.

So, once again, Antony Michaelson has promised the moon and delivered it at a down-to-earth price. The A324 would be a strong recommendation at $1995—or even $2495, half the price of the Nu-Vista 3D. At $1195, it's an astonishing bargain that belongs in Class A of "Recommended Components." I wouldn't drop money on a more costly digital processor without first hearing this one. The A324 is a great way to do digital now.
