Want tube sound with solid state convenience? That's an illusive goal but some reviewers think the LFD comes pretty close. I tend to agree.
Stereophiile's Sam Tellig said, "The LFD MK IV LE has a sweetness, openness, airiness, a way of opening up, spatially that calls to mind not only the best tube amps, but the best flea-watt tube amps. The very-low-powered single-ended triodes. The LFD MK IV reproduces harmonic structures correctly." I much preferred the LFD presentation with Harbeth speakers to Naim and Rega integrated amplifiers, which often sounded too forward and too bright or detailed to my liking.
Priced fairly at 38% of current retail ($4,495) for the Mk V edition, so you can try with little financial risk and resell at no loss if not happy with the sound. Conservatively rated a "8" but the unit has no significant imperfections. FREE SHIPPING to CONUS, too!
