This listing is for a Marchand Electronics MB42, 300 watt mono subwoofer amplifier.
.
I have been using and selling these subwoofer amplifiers for five years now. We use them to power our Extended Low Frequency (ELF) cabinet that comes with the Vittora horn system. The performance is great and the reliability is outstanding. Features include a variable crossover point adjustment that adjusts the 24db slope crossover point, a phase control, a damping control, and of course gain.
.
300 watt single channel amplifier
Low-pass crossover, variable from 20Hz - 180Hz, 24db/octave slope
Left/right inputs summed - RCA input jacks
5-way binding post output
Balanced XLR Inputs available
120vac/220vac universal power supply
MOSFET power transistors and toroidal power transformer

There are cheaper units out there that look like they might do the same job, but I've bought and tried them, and let me tell you, the others I tried aren't even close to the quality or performance of the Marchand. I did this when I was researching what was available to sell to my Vittora customers. It was disappointing really, because I thought we could find a $499 unit that would do the job for us, but it just isn't so. Other units I tried just didn't perform well. One of them was defective new out of the box. Reliability is so important to me because I don't want to be dealing with problems all the time, and my customers don't either. It is definately worth spending more money for performance that is real, and reliability that is as good as it gets.
