This was McIntosh’s biggest and meanest stereo amp before the release of the MC452. It is still the clear favorite among many audiophiles who prefer this over the newer MC452. I am the 2nd owner however the original owner was my uncle so it has been in the family from day one when purchase new.
The MC402 is still a highly sought after amp and this particular unit has been meticulously maintained. Rated 8/10 to be safe but in my eyes, it is a solid 9/10. Heavy duty original double boxes and all inserts are present together with its manual.
