Fully tested and it truly seems under-rated. We ran the most power-hungry speakers in the store and it drove them effortlessly. The McIntosh power amp circuitry is so stable that the amp can be driven into any load from 1 to 8 ohms without distress and from .5 to 4 in mono mode.

McIntosh components are so well-built that even their preamps often weight as much as or more than others' power amps. The classic look that makes it so beautiful also makes it difficult to do it justice in photos because the face plate is a mirror for the room. Odd button-like objects in the photos are the photographer's clothing.

Based on the overall good cosmetics and outstanding performance of this amp is seems well worth the asking price. It is worth noting the power supply caps appear to have little wear, There is some bubbling around the headphone jack, which is typical, and a couple of other bubbles including just below and between the two meters. The left side chrome trim has a slight concave bow you have to be looking for to see. There is one screw missing on the back in the speaker connector area.
