For sale a legendary Mcintosh MC402. The amplifier is rated 400w x 2 in 8 ohms, 4 0hms, or 2 ohms.

Thank you to the Mcintosh Autoformer technology, this amplifier can guarantee to deliver 400w x 2 regardless of the speaker's impedance 8, 4, or 2 ohms.

This is a beautiful sounding amplifier at this price point and the Mcintosh famous blue light that is a classic beauty. At 400w per channel, this amp. can drives and handles virtually any real world speakers but it has no problem making my B&W Nautilus 801 which is rate 1000w sings.

The newer version of this amplifier, the MC452 is selling used of over $6000. I am not even sure how much improvement it would have over this amplifier to justify spending almost 2k more. Unless money is no object to you, then I would probably stay with this to save a couple of thousands to invest and upgrade else where in your system like preamp.

The amplifier is working perfectly. All the lights and meters are all function correctly. Physically, I don't find anything that worth mentioned. The glass is in perfect shape with no scratches or bubbles, the chrome is shinny with no scratches.
