Naim Audio NAP-500DR, with low use.

I’m selling my NAP 500 amplifier, consisting of the head unit and power supply. The original manufacture date was 2000, but this amp has been upgraded to current configuration:

AV Options performed a full re-cap of the Power Supply in 2011. The Power Supply is back to original specs.

In 2016, AV Options upgraded the head unit to DR configuration. Calling this an “upgrade” is an understatement. The only thing left of the original amplifier is the outer case and heat sinks. All the electronics are completely new from Naim as part of the DR kit. Even the XLR, Burndy and speaker sockets are new. This is an expensive upgrade ($8,300), and AV Options in Chicago is renowned for the fastidious way their chief technician, Chris West, handles this work.

The amp had always run the tweeter in my active DBL system. I listen entirely to classical music, and the tweeter amp barely gets warm. I took this amp out of my system in 10/17, when I purchased Statement amps for one of the three “ways” of this system. I’m keeping the other two 500s.

This is a great chance to acquire an up-to-date 500, with extremely low hours, at substantially less than half the price of new. The scale produced by the 500 amp is in a completely different league from the 250 or even the 300 amps. Check out the reviews.

I sell equipment infrequently, and when I do, I price below “fair”. I’m not trying to wring the last dollar out of the sale. I’ll double box for shipment, and include both Burndy’s and a Powerline ($995 retail).
