NAKAMICHI CA-5ll LEGENDARY PREAMP W/MC &MM PHONO : LIKE NEW!

This preamplifier was the original giant killer! Designed by the the legendary Nelson Pass, with one of the best phono stages ever from the genius mind of John Curl! The unit is in excellent cosmetic condition (Near Mint See photo's). I had this beauty completely recapped with audiophile grade, Nichicon Muse, and Panasonic FC audiophile capacitors and an upgraded and larger power supply with new ultrafast soft recovery rectifiers, bypassed in with Wima MKP-10 Polypropelene film caps. Other upgrades include Holco Audiophile resistors in key areas, the refurbishing was performed in Aug. 2016! (At a cost of $400) by Avatar Engineering. It now sounds better than it did when new. If your part of the Vinyl revival this preamp is the one to get, its MC/MM phono section is world renown and truly is one of the best sounding ever made! Nakamichi sold these preamps for $1300 in the late 80's which is approx. $3000 these days, and thats about what you would have to spend to get comparable performance from the new stuff!
