Pair (2) of Outlaw Audio Model 200 M-Block monoblock power amplifiers. I am selling the two together and will not separate them. Asking price is for the pair. Conservatively rated 7.
These amps have a music sensing feature that powers them on from standby. It is a useful feature, or you can use 12-volt trigger.

Questions for the seller |

Yes. Perhaps you can help. I have a Marantz receiver 7.1 with 90 watts per channel. I have vintage 800 series B&W speakers which I LOVE. When I hook up the speakers, the receiver cuts off immediately. The receiver is rated for 8 ohms. The speakers are 8 ohms with a minimum of 3 ohms, so I think the problem is the speakers are drawing more current than the receiver can deliver. I formerly had a 2 channel Nakamichi receiver driving things, but now you can't find a newer receiver to drive it because they are all designed to drive a minimum of 5 speakers. Unfortunately your question is more complex than I am able to advise. If you are thinking of replacing the Marantz with these amps, you'll obviously need a preamp or use your Marantz as a preamp only. |
Yes, I would use the Marantz as a preamp only. I bought a set of five speaker with the receiver, but my room is huge with 14 foot ceilings everywhere so it is like playing a transistor radio in there. It really was a mistaken purchase. I haven't been using the receiver for any other audio (movies, etc.). I just want to listen to music. The television is hooked through the Marantz, but not the audio. I'd sell the whole thing and start over, but without spending thousands, I don't see a good option for a new receiver. It is either try what I have as a preamp or buy something vintage. Any ideas? Thanks for your help. You have a good idea of using the Marantz as a preamp only. If you want true separates, I also have a Bryston preamp (BP-25) listed. If you are interested in buying all three as a system, I would do shipping for a flat $150 which would cover all three. |
