Pass Labs X-1 Solid State Preamp

Purchased new in 2004 from an authorized dealer and paired with a Pass X250 amp. Performance is transparent with a large soundstage, and the build quality is excellent. When first released, reviewers considered the X1 an exceptional value. The only reason I am now selling it (and the amp) is that I’m downsizing to a smaller integrated system.

The Pass Labs X1 was sold in two configurations: One with the preamp and power supply in separate, equally sized, matching enclosures; the other with the power supply in a compact enclosure. This one has the compact power supply enclosure, which I preferred to save space and more easily position the power unit away from audio components.

The preamp has been used in a clean environment and very well cared for. The power supply unit is in like-new condition. The preamp unit is in great shape functionally and cosmetically with the exception of a light 1” scratch and a very light scuff on the top panel. Both are shown in the photo using a bright flash. The remote is clean and in very good condition with the exception of a small area of corrosion on the inside of the back cover due to a leaky battery about 10 years ago. This is shown in the photo along with the battery holder, which was not impacted.

Original documents and cables are included. Also included is a pair of 2-meter Nordost Solar Wind XLR cables that were purchased new for $133. Preamp will be packed in the original double boxes with original packing material. A third outer box will be used for extra protection.
