BELOW BOOK VALUE. Price includes shipping, insurance, and PayPal/AudioGon fees. Rotel RB-990BX stereo power amp. I'm the second owner, bought in 2009. Sounds/operates like new. Very good condition, 8/10 on Audiogon's condition scale. See pictures. Compared it to several other amplifiers under under $2500 and none touched this RB-990BX. While I don't have the original box, I have a Krell box that will work. This, and the very similar RB-991 and RB-1080 were/are Rotel's best sounding amplifiers. Rotel conservatively rates the 990/991/1080 at 200 W/ch into 8 ohms and 300 W/ch into 4 ohms. I have over a decade of 100% positive feedback and am a very fast shipper. I will pay the shipping and insurance at my asking price. Numerous glowing reviews of the RB990, RB991, RB1080, all very similar amplifiers...

Summing up
The Rotel RB-990 is an exceptional performer, especially considering its modest price and generous power rating. Its resolution of detail and overall neutrality hint at a performance level that one would expect from an amp costing two or three times as much.
...this may be the ideal amp for those shopping for a $2000 amp, but who really wish they could find an extra thousand to invest in the front-end or speakers. The RB-990 may be just the solution.
...the modest-looking Rotel proved a powerhouse, delivering 281.5W into 8 ohms, 539W into 4 ohms, 974 W into 2 ohms, and 1615W into 1 ohm. The latter corresponds to an RMS current of 40A by the way!
