Sim Audio Moon Evolution P-8 stereo preamp. Stereophile Class A! $16,000 MSRP

The Evolution P-8 is quite simply a stunning preamp in the realm of five figure price tag preamps. Unlike the Evolution P-7 that we recently sold, the P-8 is a dual mono, dual power supply, fully balanced, two chassis design. In the P-8, Simaudio raised the bar even higher where the P-7 had set. Music now has an even higher level of purity and transparency. Side by side with Audio Research's Reference 3 preamp, the Simaudio had a clearer, more radiating presence in its presentation. Background was absolutely black with great depth and width. Costing three times as much as the P-7, we think it is worth every penny when you consider its current Evolution 850P is a $28,000 preamp that builds on the P-8's strength (but not by much...) and sets an even higher bar of accomplishment.

Cosmetically, the preamp is in very nice shape. One owner since new. Minor scuff marks here and there but nothing major. We have the original remote, manual and box for it. We also have the matching $9,000 Evolution 650D CD player/DAC for sale in another listing.
