Sonore Music Server - 1TB, Linux

For your kind consideration is a custom built Sonore (by Simple Design) music server. Very well thought out and regarded. Check out Computer Audiophile for reviews, etc. This unit uses the VortexBox engine which is open-source and easy to use. Silent running. Unlike other servers that I have tried this can be placed in my primary listening room without issue. Can be controlled from a variety of iPad applications (MPoD, MPaD, Squeezepad, etc.) in addition to a networked PC. Has a drive although I use dBpoweramp for all ripping and tagging. The 1TB drive has nearly 300 albums in WAV although this server can handle a variety of file types. Installed is a Lynx AES16 card used in conjunction with a Cardas 2 meter AES (d-sub to XLR) cable. Without question this is the best digital I have experienced when partnered with a high quality DAC. I recently purchased the upgraded power supply which makes a nice difference.
