I am the original owner, and this deck was purchased new.

The TC-KA3ES should have a home where it is used and appreciated.

It is the finest cassette deck Sony ever made,

apart from the KA7ES, which is slightly more feature laden.

Appearance is pristine, although very close inspection

will reveal less than perfection. Face is blemish free.

Operationally this deck is perfect.

Looks new on the inside if you were to take the cover off.

Same goes for the cassette compartment ... perfect.

Cassette door open/close is motorized.

Play (green), Pause (amber) & Record (red) buttons

have indicators when engaged, set into each button.

The TC-KA3ES will ship UPS Ground w/ insurance to cover purchase.

I ship very quickly, almost immediately in some cases.

Payment by PayPal adds 3% to purchase price.

(Deck has not received a lot of use over the years,

but has been consistently used, and kept fully maintained.

Pictures should indicate a fair amount of TLC.)

WILL INCLUDE A COPY OF THE SERVICE MANUAL ON DISC.

Hello -- Any bench time / maintenance performed on this deck?

The KA-3ES has not had a lot of use over the years, but has
received consistent use (not sat for more than a few weeks
without use). I have been using (and understand) R-to-R decks
since the mid-seventies, so you might imagine the ease of
maintenance a cassette deck presents. This deck has always
been in our system (never stored). Every year or so I take the
older components into the shop (now garage), take the cover off,
and blow out any dust, and do a visual inspection. In the case
of this deck, it requires rubber conditioning the belts, and pinch
rollers, a thorough cleaning of the tape path, and head demagnetizing.

[BTW -- There is a pop-up function (clearly indicated in the manual)
allowing easier access to the tape path for head cleaning and pinch
roller conditioning, which makes any routine maintenance quiet simple.]

Have any receipts as such?

I don't have the receipts as a reminder of the exact time that I replaced
the belts (probably 7 or 8 years ago). I do remember the thought that I
should wait to replace the belts because there was no deterioration,
but went ahead due simply to the age of the original belts,
and the fact that the replacement was convenient.

Are there any cassettes available with the sale of the Sony?

I do have many cassettes, most of which are "Sony Metal SR 100".
A few are new, but most are 1-pass. Also have a few good quality
new & sealed of differing brands. Will probably include, let's say,
WILL include 6 of the other cassettes. (We could discuss a sale
of the SR 100's, but I have two other decks, and am not sure if I
will do a whole lot more playing.)

BTW -- Another key reason for selling: this deck creates the finest recordings,
using easiest (and most enjoyable) method, but I am not planning to do any
further cassette recording. (Will probably transfer the music to R-to-R.)
