Sound Lab M2 SoundLab M2 Speakers

For Sale: One very nice pair of Sound Lab M2 speakers. I am the third owner of the speakers. The second owner lived here in the Charlotte area, and I purchased them here locally ( 18 miles away ). The first owner was a dealer who lived I the California mountains and drove the pair to the factory to have them rebuilt before shipping to the second owner. They have the M2 original semi curved panels, but the panels were completely rebuilt ( I called the factory to check ). The rebuilt pair were then factory crated and shipped to the second owner here in Charlotte NC. The backing plates ( as they are called ), contain the power supply and electronics’. They have been rebuilt using the torrid transformers, and have had what are called the “hot rod” mods, which have been acclaimed to have a much improved sound. The M2 speakers in my opinion are maybe the best of the lot. Their size and weight are more reasonable, and just seem to fit better in most rooms. Yes I know the biggest Sound Labs are king of the hill, but are just to big for most rooms. My room size is 21 x 24 feet, and they are more than enough to fill the room to high levels if you wish. Place them where you wish. They sound good about any where in a room if you use common sense. Because my listening room is also our large living room, I do sit back against a wall, but keep the M2’s off the wall by about 6 – 8 feet, and spaced out about 10 feet edge to edge, and never lose the center fill. Sound stage width and depth are fantastic. Sometimes I will pull my chair off the wall a bit to reduce sound off the rear wall. One wall of our room is missing the middle 17 feet, and the other outside wall has two large glass windows, and they still sound great. I listen to CD’s, Vinyl, and HD off my macbook pro. You will find that if your source material is not that great you will hear it. If the source material is good, the sound is great. I do listen to rock, but they are not really rock speakers. If your looking for head banging, ear bleeding speakers, then Sound Labs are not for you. There is plenty of visceral bass from the speakers, if … the bass is on the recording . I will be glad to spend some time on the phone with you answering any questions you might have. Local pick up would be great. The panels remove from the backing plates, and can be placed in a SUV or mini van. I will ship, but will have to make up crates ( I have the factory specs for the crates ). Total panel boxed weight will be about 200 pounds for each created panel. The backing plates will be boxed in two separate boxes. I will consider delivering them within 1000 miles of where I live, for ……. The actual cost of my travel expenses. I think they will fit in my Honda Pilot SUV with no problem.
